I have only been rowing now for about three or so months. I started because a friend in the university rowing squad was persistently trying to convince me to join, saying I am a good size for rowing. I gave in one day and started going to the training sessions and found that I enjoyed it even if someone of the training sessions are hard work (Hour of pain). I had no previous rowing experience but was able to pick it up quickly. I have only been in a boat 8 or 9 times but am enjoying learning the skills, I am at the stage where I can only get better and am looking forward to the time ahead. I think that the record attempt is a really good idea and i am glad i am part of it, it is not very often that you get the opportunity to do something like this. When I first heard about the record attempt it sounded easy for a world record and as world records go it probably is. However as it gets closer to the start of the attempt the scale of the task seems to be growing but world records are not meant to be easy. |
